Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Chiefs a B.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Chiefs spent No. 153 on Zane Durant, a name the board had a full 31 spots lower. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

However the rest shakes out, Sadiq at that price is a win they earned. They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Christen Miller
In slot 24 they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at the 45th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick55 Rnd2 Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman in pick No. 55 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76 Rnd3 Will Lee III
Good price on Will Lee III in the 76th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick114 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
A reach for Bryce Lance in pick 114; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick123 Rnd4 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
The board had Emmanuel McNeil-Warren higher than No. 123, and the safety fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick153 Rnd5 Zane Durant
Zane Durant at the 153rd overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick176 Rnd5 Bryce Boettcher
Bryce Boettcher in Round 5, Pick 36 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
