FutureA+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chiefs: B+. Give the room credit for holding its nerve. Blake Miller came off the board 17 spots later than his grade, and the Chiefs were the ones waiting when he fell. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Jonathan Taylor gives the group a proven body among the projects.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick45
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
A tidy bit of business in No. 45, where Dontay Corleone graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick49
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in Round 2, Pick 17 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick76
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at the 76th overall pick is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick114
Rnd4
Adon Shuler
The board had Adon Shuler higher than slot 114, and the safety fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick153
Rnd5
Blake Miller
Blake Miller slid further than he should have, and pick No. 153 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick176
Rnd5
Duce Robinson
Duce Robinson at the 176th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
