Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB+
The Browns checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

The Chase Bisontis pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 27 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Neal at that price is a win they earned.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick25 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
They let Jake Slaughter come to them and pounced at pick 47. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick54 Rnd2 Kamari Ramsey
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kamari Ramsey in No. 54. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick57 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt at slot 57 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick72 Rnd3 LaNorris Sellers
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing LaNorris Sellers in the 72nd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick95 Rnd3 Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II at Round 3, Pick 31 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
They reached a country mile for Chase Bisontis at the 99th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick107 Rnd4 Julian Neal
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Julian Neal at pick No. 107 is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144 Rnd5 Blake Miller
A quiet steal in slot 144: Blake Miller for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick146 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Kage Casey at No. 146 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick164 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
They took Max Iheanachor at par in the 164th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick204 Rnd6 Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta in pick 204 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 Tree Babalade
No edge and no loss on Tree Babalade in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick213 Rnd6 Mark Fletcher Jr.
Good price on Mark Fletcher Jr. in the 213th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick242 Rnd7 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at slot 242 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
