Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Giants: C+. Nobody had CJ Daniels this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 74 spots to get him at pick 105. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Abney II at that price is a win they earned.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Trevor Goosby
In pick No. 11 they get a cornerstone up front, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick28
Rnd1
Chris Brazzell II
In pick 28 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kayden McDonald
Kayden McDonald at the 34th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick35
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
By-the-book stuff, Sonny Styles at slot 35 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick90
Rnd3
Keith Abney II
Value with a capital V on Keith Abney II in No. 90, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick102
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
They talked themselves into Chase Bisontis at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick105
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
They reached into another round for CJ Daniels, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A wild overpay on Davison Igbinosun in the Round 5 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick176
Rnd5
Mark Fletcher Jr.
They reached a country mile for Mark Fletcher Jr. at slot 176, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick183
Rnd6
Xavier Nwankpa
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Nwankpa. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick192
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in pick No. 192 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick194
Rnd6
Trinidad Chambliss
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Trinidad Chambliss at pick 194. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick196
Rnd6
Drayk Bowen
Value said wait; Drayk Bowen in Round 6, Pick 15 says they were not listening. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
