The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Kenyon Sadiq, the No. 22 name on the board, sitting there at Round 2, Pick 13 like a gift left on the doorstep.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
