Somebody took the Texans to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If Simpson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The Booker value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had cheaper options than T'Vondre Sweat at slot 45, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cooper Beebe in the 62nd pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Roman Wilson in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Austin Booker in pick No. 168 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
