They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That is an edge rusher worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Dallas Turner at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Fair-plus on Khyree Jackson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Javon Foster at the 150th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Jefferson at slot 204 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nice patience on Sam Hartman, who had no business lasting to pick 228. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
