You could see the war room lean forward. Tahj Brooks at pick 222 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
Every board in the league had Brosmer lower, and that gap is the story. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

In slot 12 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

They reached a country mile for Max Brosmer at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Chris Paul Jr. in pick No. 216 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A running back of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
