The Vikings lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
The whole projection now runs through Drake Maye; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Guyton lower, and that gap is the story.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
JT Tuimoloau is a better player than Round 2, Pick 6 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tyler Guyton at pick 42 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Ruke Orhorhoro in pick No. 68, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dominick Puni at slot 108 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
