The board owed the Eagles one, and it paid up: Danny Stutsman, the No. 90 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 164 like a gift left on the doorstep.
With cornerback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In No. 31 they get a matchup weapon at tight end, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Barrett Carter while clear needs at cornerback, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Ty Robinson at pick No. 160 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A safety of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 29 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
