There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Sam Hartman, 33 picks ahead of schedule.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
The veteran additions, T.J. Edwards chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get an island corner, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ja'Lynn Polk in pick No. 54 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Bucky Irving in pick 93 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
