Draft Profile: Bio
Nolan Rucci from Warwick High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 5-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Rucci opted to join Wisconsin. In 2022 as a freshman Rucci saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 28 snaps for the Badgers. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing at left tackle.
As a sophomore in 2023 he played in just 2 games and a total of 6 snaps. He conceded no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Does a nice job on the second level, moving upfield quickly and showing the flexibility and balance to land blocks in space.
- Shows a good feel for combo blocks, and Rucci displays good quickness and flexibility when moving to the second level, capable of sealing the back side on reach blocks
- A better than expected athlete who steadily improved in pass protection. Stout at the point of attack and maintains a wide base.
- Rucci thrives on physicality, often out-grappling bigger defensive linemen and winning in the phone booth with tenacity and upper-body strength.
- He does a nice job working with teammates to build the pocket, anchoring against bull rushers and displaying good awareness against stunts and twists.
- As a pass protector, he plays with good balance and holds up against the bull rush. Rucci has strong hands and does a nice job gripping and latching on once he has his hands on the pass rusher.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Has fairly heavy feet, struggling to mirror against quicker defenders. Rucci lacks the range to get out as an effective puller, and Rucci can often look stiff when moving out into space and zeroing in on bodies.
- Has good-not-great feet. Dealing with speed on the edge will likely be a problem, especially because he’s more comfortable moving forward as a run blocker than he is retreating as a pass protector.
- Raw as a pass protector, looking choppy and unnatural when moving back into his set, often playing too upright.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
