You could see the war room lean forward. Raheim Sanders at No. 214 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
Everything downstream of Cam Ward depends on Cam Ward, and the building knows it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
A quiet steal in pick No. 37: Emeka Egbuka for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Mason Taylor enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 68. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They let Azareye'h Thomas come to them and pounced at slot 73. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Will Howard in pick 107, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Andrew Mukuba in No. 144 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jay Higgins in the 182nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Circle this one: Raheim Sanders at the 214th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Roc Taylor in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Zeek Biggers in Round 7, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
