You can draft well and still miss the point. The Vikings did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to safety, which was the need that mattered most. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Getting Jones where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
