When a board-topper like Kalel Mullings slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Raiders did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Shedeur Sanders is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Tre Harris slid further than he should have, and the 34th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Dylan Sampson was still sitting there in the 66th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jalon Walker in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for Malachi Moore here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Luke Kandra in No. 139 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kalel Mullings at slot 178 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ricky White III at pick 212 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They jumped the gun on Antonio Williams, taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ar'maj Reed-Adams at the 218th pick is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
