This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Raheim Sanders, the No. 141 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 28. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They are betting Stackhouse proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: safety settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
T.J. Sanders in Round 2, Pick 10 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Malachi Moore at pick 73 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
You do not let a cornerback like Denzel Burke reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Kaleb Johnson at the 146th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Jay Higgins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They jumped the gun on Nazir Stackhouse, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Raheim Sanders in pick No. 242 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
