When a board-topper like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint slides to slot 257, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. The cost of the Anderson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get the arm they will build around. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 23rd pick they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cedric Gray in slot 108 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid up for Trevor Keegan at the 129th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A conviction pick on Tip Reiman at pick No. 167 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Tanor Bortolini enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 6, Pick 2. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Jarrian Jones still on the board at pick 180. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They talked themselves into Evan Anderson at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the 257th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
