Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Eagles came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
On value alone, Goncalves makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
A clean, defensible pick in No. 23 with a little surplus value in Taliese Fuaga. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Worthy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Kamari Lassiter went about where he belonged in slot 53. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cole Bishop at Round 4, Pick 8 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Value with a capital V on Maason Smith in the 120th overall pick, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Matt Goncalves in pick 129 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A quiet steal in the Round 5 slot: Trevin Wallace for less than the market said. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Decamerion Richardson in slot 171 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let Cornelius Johnson come to them and pounced at pick 172. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Rasheen Ali slipping to pick No. 210 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
