This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Leonard Taylor III, the No. 112 name on the board, stolen at Round 4, Pick 33.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In No. 27 they get a ballhawk on the outside, and a steal at that.
Bralen Trice at the 38th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Patrick Paul in Round 3, Pick 2 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
T'Vondre Sweat slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Christian Mahogany slid further than he should have, and the 90th pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Michael Hall Jr. higher than pick No. 104, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Leonard Taylor III was still sitting there in pick 133, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. The roster fit checks out.
