Philadelphia Eagles

Grand theft in the 89th overall pick: the Eagles steal Moore and grade out a C+.

The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

The Moore pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

If Kevin Winston Jr. and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · Kevin Winston Jr. · S · rank 28
In pick 31 they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value. A real need, handled.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Lander Barton · LB · rank 56
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Lander Barton. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.22 · Pick 86 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 84
They took T.J. Sanders at par in slot 86, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Rod Moore · S · rank 67
They robbed the room for Rod Moore here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · Deion Burks · WR · rank 80
Deion Burks slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.25 · Pick 121 · J.C. Davis · OT · rank 111
J.C. Davis in Round 4, Pick 25 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.31 · Pick 127 · Aireontae Ersery · OT · rank 119
A quiet steal in slot 127: Aireontae Ersery for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.8 · Pick 200 · Brant Kuithe · TE · rank 196
Brant Kuithe in pick 200 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
R7.10 · Pick 202 · Jason Henderson · LB · rank 199
Jason Henderson at the 202nd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R7.24 · Pick 216 · Zy Alexander · CB · rank 197
They will replay Zy Alexander at pick No. 216 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
