Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Umanmielen. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The DeShon Elliott pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 23 they get an anchor for the defensive front at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick 25 they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board fumbled Princely Umanmielen all the way to the 55th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Brant Kuithe went about where he belonged in slot 89. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Marques Cox in pick No. 151, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took J.C. Davis at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
