The trade table was a mismatch, and the Vikings were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The Jordan value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Spending an early pick on TE-EDGE with safety and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 15 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 56th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for Junior Colson in the 108th overall pick, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 12. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A curious use of No. 128. Safety and tight end needed the pick; a TE-EDGE in Cade Stover did not.
Joe Milton III in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Nelson Ceaser at the 151st overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Justin Rogers at the 163rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They read the board right and Moose Muhammad III was the payoff at pick 164. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jaylen Harrell in slot 188 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jawhar Jordan at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Miles Frazier at Round 7, Pick 10 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
