Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Sainristil that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Laiatu Latu at par in the 9th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cooper Beebe in Round 3, Pick 11 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Junior Colson at pick 89 is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
Mike Sainristil in pick No. 104 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Bucky Irving in the 113th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Fair-plus on Malik Washington, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
