They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They will need Smith-Wade to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. However the rest shakes out, Fautanu at that price is a win they earned.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Value with a capital V on Troy Fautanu in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Chau Smith-Wade at Round 4, Pick 12 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Fair-plus on Dylan Laube, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Donell Harris Jr. in the 234th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
