The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Trevor Etienne, the 215th overall pick, roughly 73 picks past where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Howard has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malaki Starks at pick 37. A minor itch, scratched.
Will Howard at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Ozzy Trapilo at the 108th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Cam Skattebo in No. 143 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Pat Bryant at slot 180 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Jack Nelson at the 213th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trevor Etienne in Round 6, Pick 39 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: KeAndre Lambert-Smith at pick 222 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
