They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get the arm they will build around. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nice patience on Xavier Worthy, who had no business lasting to pick 63. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Elijah Jones at the 108th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Mohamed Kamara in slot 129 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Jarrian Jones still on the board at Round 5, Pick 21. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They did well to land Walter Rouse in No. 167, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kitan Oladapo at the 177th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Eric Watts at par in No. 230, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in the Round 7 slot: JD Bertrand for less than the market said. A minor itch, scratched.
