Somebody in No. 138 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Quinshon Judkins, the No. 73 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: safety settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a ballhawk on the back end, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Deone Walker in the 97th pick is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Quinshon Judkins at pick 138 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Joshua Gray in Round 5, Pick 26; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
