Start where it matters. The Vikings took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Kinchens.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Vikings paired the rookies with proven help, James Cook leading the way.
In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A safety of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 14 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Braden Fiske at the 108th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Cedric Johnson in slot 148, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Malik Washington at No. 163 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Monheim. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Steele Chambers at the 230th pick is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A tidy little value on Nathaniel Watson in pick 235, a step better than break-even. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
