This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Max Melton, the No. 111 name on the board, stolen at the 130th pick.
That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Rome Odunze at par in pick 11, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Chop Robinson at No. 42 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tykee Smith at pick No. 108 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Max Melton at slot 130 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Luke McCaffrey slipping to Round 5, Pick 12 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Keith Randolph Jr. is a better player than the 160th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Andru Phillips at the 179th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Daequan Hardy at pick 230. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
