Start where it matters. The Vikings took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Duke pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. The Pritchett value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Zak Zinter in Round 4, Pick 3 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mekhi Wingo. The roster fit checks out.
Jamari Thrash at the 129th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nehemiah Pritchett in the 157th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Dwight McGlothern at No. 167 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Value with a capital V on Dillon Johnson in pick 177, a genuine coup. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Tylan Grable in pick No. 230; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A big swing on Khalid Duke at Round 7, Pick 12, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
