The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
Landing Jones that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. They will need Means to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Leonard Taylor III in slot 108 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
James Williams at pick 129 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A straight-up fair deal on Javion Cohen at No. 165, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Jarrian Jones still on the board at the 167th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
By-the-book stuff, Khristian Boyd at Round 6, Pick 2 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Garret Greenfield in pick No. 230. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They liked Bub Means enough to skip the value, taking him in the 232nd pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
