Some picks age like wine; Tyler Davis at the 52nd overall pick will need to, sitting 44 spots clear of his grade.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Sturdivant at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 20 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tyler Davis at the Round 2 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Tommy Eichenberg in the 120th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ajani Cornelius in Round 5, Pick 21, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Jalon Daniels in slot 161, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Kamal Hadden at pick 168, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
J. Michael Sturdivant in No. 179 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
