The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
That Anthony pick is the receipt they will wave around later. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get a franchise quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Chop Robinson at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Khyree Jackson at the 109th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Taking Jacob Cowing in No. 130 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and MarShawn Lloyd at the 145th pick is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Cole Bishop at Round 5, Pick 21 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Edefuan Ulofoshio went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board had LaDarius Henderson higher than pick No. 179, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Daijahn Anthony at pick 227 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
