Start where it matters. The Vikings took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. However the rest shakes out, Davis at that price is a win they earned.
They are betting McCarthy proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 11 they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 28th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They read the board right and Tyler Davis was the payoff at No. 109. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jarrian Jones at pick No. 130 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They paid up for Logan Lee at Round 5, Pick 9 when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy bit of business in slot 157, where Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Nothing to complain about; Edefuan Ulofoshio went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Value with a capital V on LaDarius Henderson in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Miyan Williams at Round 7, Pick 7 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
