The Vikings bet big and early on Troy Omeire, 34 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hadden.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left safety open, and the grade is the bill.

Drake Nugent at Round 4, Pick 30 is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They let Kamal Hadden come to them and pounced at pick No. 148. A minor itch, scratched.
Value with a capital V on McCallan Castles in the 160th overall pick, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.

Isaiah Davis in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
