Boards are made to be trusted, and the Vikings shredded theirs for Zion Logue. He came off 95 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Pearsall. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Somehow Kool-Aid McKinstry was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 10, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Ricky Pearsall at the 109th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Taking Jaden Hicks in pick 130 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Ty'Ron Hopper at the 145th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Gabe Hall at No. 157 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
A real head-scratcher, Zion Logue in pick 166 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Xavier Thomas at the 179th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Isaiah Davis at Round 7, Pick 7 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
