Everything else got attention, and safety got none. That is a strange way for the Vikings to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Logue pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Smith-Wade pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
Chop Robinson in pick 42 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Roman Wilson at No. 87 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Bucky Irving is a better player than slot 108 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tyrice Knight at pick No. 130 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Ben Sinnott at the 148th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
They took Joe Milton III at par in the 160th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Zion Tupuola-Fetui at pick 166 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Chau Smith-Wade graded well above the range. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Zion Logue in the 230th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
