You could see the war room lean forward. Kaleb Johnson at Round 3, Pick 33 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a wrecking ball inside. A clean fit for the roster.
Somehow Kaleb Johnson was still sitting there in the 97th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 138 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jared Wilson at Round 5, Pick 22 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
