Nobody else had Zion Logue anywhere near Round 6, Pick 4. The Vikings did, by 89 spots, and that gap is the whole story. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Michael Penix Jr. gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Landing Sainristil that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get their quarterback of the future. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Troy Franklin slid further than he should have, and the 42nd pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for Mike Sainristil here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They talked themselves into Justin Rogers at Round 4, Pick 30, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jaylen Harrell in slot 145 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for Gabe Hall at pick No. 157, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Ty'Ron Hopper slipping to pick 166 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Logue in slot 179, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A slide stopped in No. 227, with Jawhar Jordan worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
