They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Michael Penix Jr. is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.
They will need Limmer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Jones pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Devontez Walker went about where he belonged in the 42nd overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Beaux Limmer well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Isaiah Adams in No. 130 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Javion Cohen in Round 5, Pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Braelon Allen at the 157th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Jaylen Wright in pick 166, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Javon Baker in pick No. 179; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Christian Jones in pick No. 227 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
