Somebody in slot 239 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while De'Corian Clark, the No. 217 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Sinnott has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Kingsley Suamataia at slot 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A straight-up fair deal on McKinnley Jackson at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nothing to complain about; Max Melton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ben Sinnott at the 126th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They read the board right and Jaylin Simpson was the payoff at pick No. 163. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
De'Corian Clark at No. 239 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Matthew Jones at pick 247 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
