The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Tyler Baron, Round 7, Pick 13, roughly 90 picks past where he belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 14th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board fumbled Evan Stewart all the way to the 77th pick, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Rylie Mills at pick No. 141 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tyler Baron in Round 7, Pick 13 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
