The Raiders torched the value chart for Jordan Jefferson, taking him 36 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. The final tally is a middling C.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
So much rides on Marvin Harrison Jr. that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
Marvin Harrison Jr. slid further than he should have, and pick No. 13 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
T.J. Tampa in pick 47 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They read the board right and Kingsley Suamataia was the payoff at the 73rd pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A conviction pick on Trey Benson at No. 77 that the board grades a round light. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached into another round for Jordan Jefferson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 208 with a little surplus value in Jaylan Ford. A minor itch, scratched.
Nothing to complain about; Garret Greenfield went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Evan Williams in the 229th overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
