The rest of the league had time to spare on Jordan Jefferson; the Raiders did not wait, grabbing him 37 spots ahead at the 148th overall pick. The process wobbled, and the D+ is where it lands.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. The Wilson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Kool-Aid McKinstry in pick 44, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kingsley Suamataia slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Payton Wilson at Round 4, Pick 12 for years; that is how good the value is. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jordan Jefferson at the 148th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
