When a board-topper like Mike Sainristil slides to slot 108, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Chop Robinson at pick 42 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 8 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
Malik Washington in pick No. 130 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Good price on Luke McCaffrey in slot 148, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ty'Ron Hopper in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Keith Randolph Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 166th overall pick is lovely value for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had Kitan Oladapo higher than the 179th pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jawhar Jordan at the 230th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
