The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Williams at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
If Bortolini pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a franchise quarterback, reach and all. A real need, handled.
They did well to land Chop Robinson in pick 44, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Junior Colson at pick No. 77 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Dominick Puni at the 112th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
James Williams in the 150th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A conviction pick on Tanor Bortolini at Round 6, Pick 15 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good price on Joshua Cephus in the Round 7 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
