Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Vikings, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
The Logan Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Zinter steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The Tyler Allgeier pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
So much rides on Chop Robinson that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had cheaper options than Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick No. 43, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, T'Vondre Sweat at No. 53 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
They reached a country mile for Braden Fiske at slot 63, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Zak Zinter at the 108th pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Khyree Jackson at the 109th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Ben Sinnott at pick 148 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 5 slot, where Austin Booker graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A wild overpay on Kenny Logan Jr. in Round 6, Pick 4, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
