Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Vikings, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. It bottoms out at a F.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Beebe to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
On value alone, Robinson makes the weekend a net positive. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with quarterback still staring back at them.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Byron Murphy II. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Xavier Legette went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at pick No. 46 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on T'Vondre Sweat in slot 53; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Edgerrin Cooper at pick 54 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Chop Robinson in No. 60, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cooper Beebe in the 62nd overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
