Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Kamara left real value on the table behind him.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left interior defensive lineman open, and the grade is the bill.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in slot 59, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Jalen McMillan in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Cooper Beebe in the 88th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Mohamed Kamara in pick 112; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Johnny Dixon in No. 136. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in pick No. 148: James Williams for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jaylen Wright in the 154th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Trey Knox at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
