Nobody had Spencer Rattler this high, and it is not close. The Raiders reached 42 spots to get him at the Round 3 slot. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Williams value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Adisa Isaac at the 44th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Kingsley Suamataia went about where he belonged in pick 58. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They talked themselves into Spencer Rattler at Round 3, Pick 13, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Bucky Irving at the 91st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zak Zinter in pick No. 112 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Caelen Carson still on the board at slot 120. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Johnny Wilson in pick No. 126, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Brennan Jackson in the 148th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Erick All in No. 172 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Isaiah Williams at the 212th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They did well to land Caedan Wallace in Round 6, Pick 44, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Tatum Bethune at par in pick 223, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Michael Barrett in the Round 7 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Evan Anderson well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
